Worship at FPC
A welcoming, traditional service of worship is offered each Sunday morning to which all are cordially invited. Greeters and ushers will be on hand to welcome you, but visitors will not be singled out or made to feel conspicuous.
Sunday Morning Schedule
The Sunday morning schedule from the second Sunday in September (Rally Day for our Sunday School Program) to the last Sunday before Memorial Day Weekend in May (usually the third Sunday in May), the Sunday morning schedule is as follows:
9:45-10:45 Sunday School for all ages
10:30-11:00 Morning Rehearsal for Choirs
10:30-11:00 Reception/Refreshments
in Lacy Fellowship Hall
11:00-12:00 Worship in the sanctuary
The service features a Time With the Children, after which children, 3 years of age through first graders, are invited to a Children’s Church, led by members of the congregation.
Child Care
Infant and toddler nurseries are provided for all Sunday morning activities.Communion
The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is celebrated every other month on the first Sunday of the even numbered months of the year. In addition, an evening service of communion is also offered annually on Maundy Thursday of Holy Week. On each of these occasions home communion is also offered to those unable to attend.During Holy Week, prior to Easter Sunday, the congregation participates also in the noon Good Friday Service, which is jointly offered by the seven Presbyterian congregations in Rocky Mount.
During the Christmas Season FPC offers a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 5:30 PM, featuring scripture readings interspersed with favorite carols and anthems of the season.
Summer Schedule
The Sunday morning summer schedule, from the last Sunday in May through Labor Day weekend in September, is as follows:
9:30-10:00 Morning Rehearsal for the Chancel Choir
10:00-11:00 Worship in the sanctuary.
Children from 3 years of age through the fifth grade are invited to Children’s Church, led by members of the congregation.
